CoConutterist’s Portfolio
Hi! I’m Anis and I’m a part time small art shop owner, self taught illustrator and content creator. I have over 4 years of experience selling my art online and about a decade of posting my art on social media under the name CoConutterist.
As a queer POC artist, my goal for my art is to spread all sorts of messages- of joy, pain and resistance. My art is influenced from my background as a traditional acrylic painter whilst taking inspiration from Japanese kawaii culture, particularly from franchises like Sanrio and Chiikawa. I primarily make art of trash animals but do love to add a chaotic twist with my choice of bright saturated colours and a bit of a snarky attitude

Exhibitor Experience
Despite running an Etsy store for 4 years, I wanted to try and connect with my audience in person especially as someone trying to pursue a career in content creation and comic illustration. As such, I’ve recently decided to start tabling at conventions and art fairs to reach my audience and to connect with new artists!
So far, I have vended at small fairs, HyperJapan, Megacon, MCM and Animecon, with HyperJapan Manchester 2025 being my first convention I’ve vended at. Despite only having done 3 conventions to date, I absolutely enjoy the atmosphere that the conventions bring! It has been wonderful to meet my viewers, meet new friends, and connect with likeminded people who not just enjoy art but appreciate it wholeheartedly.
Foobs and Grog
Foobs and Grog is my one shot slice of life style mini comic project that I’m developing based on my experiences with anxiety and ADHD with a hint of whimsy.
Grog the raccoon
This little raccoon is a little squishy bundle of anxiety. While he’s a homebody who would rather hide under the blankets, he will try his best to muster the courage to step foot into the big world with his best friend Foobs the frog!
Foobs the frog
Foobs is chaos trapped inside a little frog’s body. He is one tangerine tall and one fire alarm loud. He may be impulsive but he does do his best to think before acting when he remembers to.
